Candle Care & Safety – How to Get the Most Out of Your Candle
🕯️ Candle Care & Safety
To ensure you enjoy your Your Attitude Club candle for a long time – and to ensure everything runs safely – we have put together the most important tips for proper care and safe burning here.

Tips for a long, safe candle life
1. Trim the wick – always!
Before each lighting, the wick should be trimmed to approx. 5 mm. A wick that is too long can lead to sooting, uneven burning, or too high a flame.
2. Let your candle burn long enough the first time.
The first time you light it, the wax should melt all the way to the edge (approx. 2–3 hours for small/medium candles). This prevents tunneling.
3. Don't overdo the burning time.
Never let your candle burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. After that, it needs a break – and so do you 😉
4. Extinguish the flame – but correctly, please!
Don't blow it out! Instead, use a candle snuffer or gently smother the flame with a candle lid. This avoids smoke and wax splatters.
5. Caution, hot!
Candle containers can get very hot. Never touch them immediately after extinguishing; let them cool down.
6. Don't leave them alone – neither children, pets, nor candles!
Never leave burning candles unattended. Especially pets and small children should not be alone in a room with an open flame.
7. No place for drafts.
Never place candles in a draft – this leads to uneven burning, sooting, or a flickering flame.
8. Only burn on a fireproof surface.
Always burn on a heat-resistant, stable surface. Never directly on wood, fabric, or easily flammable materials.
9. Store correctly.
Candles should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark place. This preserves the scent and prevents the wax from becoming brittle.
10. Pro tip for bargain hunters:
If you briefly put your candle in the freezer before lighting it, you can sometimes extend the burning time a little. But only in a closed jar and not with unscented candles, as condensation can form.
